Ode to the missing
My light dims ever slightly,
My desires are electric,
Don’t you take my words lightly,
See me now going all poetic.
There’s one device I adore,
Not something high tech,
Almost simple as a door,
Without I’m just a wreck.
It moves me fast and swift,
Across the city I call home,
Now without all I see is the abyss,
I scatter and pointlessly roam,
Therein lies remiss,
A faded memory of bliss.
Of the humble tram I speak,
Of course,
A yellow beast to yearn,
A place where wild dreams will meet,
Such nasty feeling - burn.
When you come back I’ll appreciate you more,
I won’t be mad, I won’t curse or blame,
There’s only love to my deepest core,
And there will be no shame,
When you are back for me, for all,
This will bring me joy untold,
To hear your rusty and metallic call,
For you my precious tram I’ll always hold...
